HOUSE PASSES THE ‘LET WOMEN DIE’ BILL | In a 251 to 170 vote, Republicans led the House to pass the “Protect Life Act” last night, sponsored by veteran anti-choice Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA). Known by women’s health advocates as the “Let Women Die” bill, the measure allows hospitals that receive federal funds to reject any woman in need of an abortion procedure, even if it is necessary to save her life. Only two Republicans opposed it, along with all but 15 Democrats. Though there is already a law that bans federal funds from supporting abortion, Republicans insisted that the Affordable Care Act “contains a loophole that allows those receiving federal subsidies to use the money to enroll in health care plans that allow abortion services.” President Obama has promised to veto this and any bill that infringes upon a woman’s constitutional right to choose.

Wow, just wow are you freaking kidding me.

I’m always in the middle of most debates. I don’t think late term abortions are right but a women shouldn’t have to give up her life to have a kid. Techically this bill comes down to money. Do what we want and we will pay you more. Morality wouldn’t be enforced or determined by who had the most money.

GOP Senator Pushes Radical Bill To Restrict Discussion Of Abortion Over The Internet

Now Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), one of the most die-hard anti-choice lawmakers, has jumped on the bandwagon bysneaking a radical anti-abortion amendment onto a completely unrelated piece of legislation. DeMint’s amendment would ban women and their doctors from discussing abortion over the Internet:

Anti-choice Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) just filed an anti-choice amendment to a bill related to agriculture, transportation, housing, and other programsThe DeMint amendment could bar discussion of abortion over the Internet and through videoconferencing, even if a woman’s health is at risk and if this kind of communication with her doctor is her best option to receive care.

Under this amendment, women would need a separate, segregated Internet just for talking about abortion care with their doctors.

Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, said DeMint is essentially mandating “an abortion-only version of Skype.”

Once again, o-m-g

1. This goes against freedom of speech laws we already have. You cannot censor the internet in America.

2. Stop tip toeing around the real issue here. If you don’t like abortion they work to get it banned. Don’t try to be sneaky about it restrict the talk of it. Discussion is needed.  Silence only creates ignorance.

Without contraception, the average woman would become pregnant roughly 12 to 15 times in her life. »

For the dudebros who don’t concern themselves with access to birth control, abortion, daycare, etc.—I would love to see how you would manage a life or a career if your plans were constantly being interrupted by pregnancy. I really would.

And before you interject with any “just close your legs! if you don’t want to get pregnant, don’t have sex!” business, please remember one thing: someone out there is getting women pregnant

emphasis mine
